The Midland and West of England GDC Colour Format Show

I would initially like to thank the club for the honour of inviting me to judge this unique show that has always been a personal favourite of mine.

Thanks must go to my two extremely efficient stewards Maureen and John who did a sterling job keeping the ring running smoothy and making the job in hand easy with all the relevant paperwork , they are a real credit to the club.

And now onto my findings, I was pleased to be presented with some beautiful heads of good length with soft expressions and I noticed a great improvement in eyes. Lots of  lovely clean outlines, free from exaggeration and loose skin, with gorgeous smooth wrinkle free withers and clean necks of good length giving the elegance our breed requires and is mentioned multiple times in the standard.

BLUE

Class 3  PGD (1) 1st… Islandrose A Nod To Vincent At Carsan (Mackenzie). 26 month old solid blue tall upstanding male , good length of foreface fitting with his narrow head and small correctly set ears. Kind dark eye and gentle expression on this still maturing head. Lovely clean long neck flowing into wrinkle free withers presenting a clean outline. Well filled front, good depth of chest . Has a firm topline and good croup. Moves easily once he gets into his long stride.

CLASS 4 OPEN DOG (2/1) 1st Creekdanes out of The Darkness at Droolakiss (Imp USA) (Lawson) Another solid blue  Masculine 3 year old impressive boy of a heavier type. Strong head without coarseness sporting a gorgeous big nose, correct ear size and set. Strong neck free from loose skin, well filled front and depth of chest. Well muscled with with good croup and rear angles which produced his powerful free moving action. Best Blue Male

CLASS 5 PB (1) 1st Novavida When Birds Sing (Page & Concannon) Super entirely blue puppy of 11 months, with substance and elegance in bags full. Beautiful head that is strong yet remains feminine , flat skull with good stop and good length of foreface and having her sires gorgeous big nose. Correct high earset, long clean neck into well placed shoulders and and strong topline. Well off for bone, lovely cat like feet and has that air of “look at me” about her.Happy Puppy enjoying her day out and moved well for age. (BEST BLUE PUPPY)

CLASS 7 PGB (2/1) 1ST Renescent Too Hot To Handlefor Chateaudain. (Lux JCH)  (Ferguson)Another solid blue… 19 month old , really good sized feminine pretty girl (feminine not fine at all) .Lovely long clean neck into clean withers, giving a lovely outine,  filled front with good tight feet. Super topline with that desired slight rise over the loin. Well muscled and moved out really well with a free and easy gait , in total sync with her handler . she still has lots to come .

2nd Novavida Sweet Iris at Irieusdane (Wright) 3 1/2 yr old Bitch. My lucky day as another solid blue , a smaller frame on this girl ..femine head with , good eye and clean throughout . Well Filled front, and good drop of chest meeting elbows creating a nice tuck up. Honest bitch that has a good topline with desired slight rise over the loin moved well and did everything asked of her.

CLASS 8 OB (4/2) 1ST Carsan Augustina (Middleton) 3 year old substantial girl yet with elegance. Beautiful classic head ..skull to nose beautifully proportioned. Dark eye with a lovely soft expression. Clean neck , well filled front , good firm topline which she held on the move. Not the tallest amongst todays competion but a super well balanced girl. Moved well (Best Blue Bitch)

HARLEQUIN

Class 11 PGD (1)1st Dainoak Tempus Vincit at Chamith (Hitcham) 3 ½ year old well marked Harli boy. Strong but pleasing head , correct ear set and a nice overall shape on Good feet. Moved well

CLASS 12 OD (3/2) 1st Adoreadane Charlton (AI) Palmer Substantial male of almost 2 yrs, pleasing head  with kind expression enhanced by his markings and big black nose ,set on lovely  clean white neck. Well filled front retaining tuck up. His white background is beautifully white with hardly any black hairs, black patches are well torn and his markings are pleasing..Moved with purpose.(Best Harli Dog)

CLASS 13 PB (1) 1st Fonblanque Fiona (AI) (Cope) 11 month feminine girl that didn’t stop wagging her tail, Good dark eye and nicely marked with a lovely white background throughout. A good square Bitch with a clean neck, and held her firm topline on the move. Another with good feet.

CLASS 15 PGB (1)1st Belarosedane Lady Bayleigh (Evans)2 ½ year old free moving girl. Elegant bitch wearing a gleaming tight fitting coat. Dark eye, well filled forechest and elbows well tucked under. Good topline and croup and moved well for her gentle handler.

CLASS 16 OB (3/2)1st Tamzdane Appleby Ever After (JW) (Pocock)2 year old lightly marked bitch, that said her white is white. Femine head with lovely eye markings ,albeit I would like more stop, Dark eye, clean white neck into wrinkle free withers. Firm topline…she excels with her free easy movement covering the ground so well. (Best Harli Bitch)

BLACKS

Class 18 JD (1)1st Newarthdane Mars (Tasker & Molloy)16 month happy lad wearing a super glossy well fitting jacket, masculine head yet not overdone with a kind , dark eye. Clean long neck…needs to drop into his rear angles but he is only just a junior. Moved okay

CLASS 19 PGD (3/2)Renescent Good fella (Mr DSimpson)19 month old gleaming jet black boy.Masculine with heaps of elegance throughout. Dark expressive kind eye, good earset that accentuates his length of foreface and narrow backskull . Elegant clean neck of good length sweeping into wrinkle free withers. Good feet especially for such a huge boy, just needs time to body up to  complete the picture,   he has plenty of that on his side. Won Best Black Male on his style and free movement (Best Black Male) 2nd Blearosedane Satchmo Bowe at Chamith 20 month old strongly made boy of a heavier type than 1, a lovely compact boy with a solid topline and super width of thigh, beautifully muscled and hence move well.

CLASS 21 PB (1)1st Wildflower Patch at Minezera (Reed)7 month old with a super glossy coat. Strong headed girl , dark eye. A heavier type with filled front , clean neck. Good topline and moved well.

CLASS 22 JB (1)1st Kaallana Jawska Serphina (Prazak Dickson)15 month entirely black bitch with a striking black well fitting coat. Dark eye and correct earset. Compact bitch with good tuck up but today she for some reason she gathered herself up on the move spoiling her outine on the move somewhat costing her in PG. Time is on her side as just a youngster

CLASS 23 PGB (3)1st Devorinw Zola Via Leamap (Price)Femine 2 year old Bitch with absolutely no exagerations, Jet black glossy coat as always from this Kennel, well muscled throughout. long clean neck free from any wrinkling and a lovely gentle rise over her loins to a good croup.

Moved positively and steadily on good tight feet with her head held high…winning her Best Black Bitch 2nd Belarosedane Beany Babybel

21 month old pretty bitch, flecked with grey but such a kind elegant head. Clean neck into well muscled shoulders. Lovely forechest albeit with a some white. Superbly muscled rear with good angles, moved well and in super condition. 3rd Kaallana Jawska Seraphina

MANTLE

CLASS 25 JD (1) 1st Adoreadane Yellowstone (AI) Tempest) Beautifully natured mantle puppy of 7 months with full white collar, white chest,white tip on tail. Darkest ofeyes with the most melting of expressions and that quizzical head tilt so Dane. Lots of bone and all male without coarseness, great layback  of shoulder resulting in a clean outline over withers into a strong topline. Shown in gleaming condition and moved easily and steadily as if he had done this a million times already . Thrilled to see his virtues take him to top honours today (Best Mantle Puppy) Best Puppy in show

CLASS 26 OD 1st CH /Swiss & Lux CH Tamzdane Empower Mint (Pocock) 3 year old four square mantle boy that every inch deserves his title. Its rare to see a dog whos all four paws point forward even when self stacked…he does. Gorgeous kind head of equal length and yet masculine without a hint of coarseness. Darkest of eyes giving that kind quizzical expression. Good length , clean neck into well filled front,good layback of shoulder into smooth wrinkle free withers on the glossiest of black (break free) blanket. Firmest of toplines , strong quarters which this boy uses to advantage on the move. Best mover of the day, Thrilled to see him go all the way to Best In Show and  Best Mantle Dog.

CLASS 26 OB 1st  Rosetta Czar Olbryzms in Alegriant (IMP POL) (Bielecka) Almost 3 year old strong yet feminine bitch of good size, with full white collar. Dark appealing eyes highlighted by clean white blaze. Clean white markings, white tip to tail. Strong topline and presents a good square outline. Moved Well. (Best Mantle Bitch)
