Windsor Dog Show Society Championship Show     Sarah Richardson

Sunday 29th June 2025

My thanks to my stewards for keeping the ring running so smoothly. It was a very warm day and I did try to get through the dogs with as few delays as possible, so they weren’t unduly affected by the heat. Although, that said, in the shade the temperature was more than manageable, and everyone was able to access sufficient shade in the tents. Most if not all exhibitors had brought with them fans and cool coats to ensure the comfort of their charges. However, some exhibits were more affected by the heat than others which did reflect in some of my placings. I would like to thank all of the exhibitors for entering their dogs for my consideration today, my first time awarding the big green cards, in this, my heart breed. I have purposely stayed away from the Dane ring for some time, prior to my judging so that I came in with no preconceptions as far as possible. I found in my entry today some classes were a real struggle. There are some dogs being shown who should be on a sofa not the showring. I was very pleased with my main winners, however the future of the breed with numbers so vastly diminished, is a concern. I found my Best Of Breed in the worthy multi ticketed bitch Clark’s - Ch Garsak Summer Days at Mintrex

Minor Puppy Dog (1,0) - 1st Wright & Cranfield’s Zefather’s Two Faces with Irieusdane – 7 month fawn with black mask. Masculine head with good parallel plains, kind eye, correct ear. This youngster stood 4 square even though he still has some growing to do. I liked his shape and balance. Moved well for one so young. Very promising youngster.

Puppy Dog (3,0) - 1st Pocock & Pavlou’s Bubba von Pao Eberjager with Tamzdane (Imp Fca) – 10 month mantle. Preferred this young lads masculine head plains, and shape to the other 2. Correct markings. Plenty of bone and substance. Straight front. Liked his topline and rear angulation. This young man has plenty to come and will take time. Another promising youngster. 2nd Tempest’s Adoreadane Yellowstone (ai) – nearly 12month mantle. This young man has a heaver head than I would prefer but he is a promising youngster again with plenty of bone and substance. Good eye. His markings are correct, though my preference would be for a little more blaze on his head. Nice straight front, well bodied and good behind. Moved well. 3rd Bielecka’s Amerikano Ataraksja in Alegriagiant (Imp Pol)

Junior Dog (2,0) - 1st Spackman’s Novavida Norseman Warrior (ai). 12months brindle. Nice brindling on this young man. Preferred his head shape and proportions to 2nd. 2nd Bartley’s Primus Gambler Atelib. 12 months fawn with black mask. Heavier in head than I prefer. Needs training! He was giving his handler a really hard time making it difficult to assess him

Yearling Dog (1,0) - 1st Morgan-Evans’ Vanmore Happy Days. 20-month brindle boy who as he came in I thought would be my ticket winner and he threw it away! Lovely parallel plains, kind dark almond eye with well-fitting rims, very typey masculine head into beautiful, crested neck, well laid shoulders with lovely bone and

straight front. Has a beautiful shape and balance to him. I liked his topline and excellent rear. Would he move? Would he hell! I tried and tried but he would not cooperate. Such a crying shame, he is an outstanding example of the breed, in my opinion.

Limit Dog (3,0) - 1st Collins & Woods’ Tamzdane's Whiskey Biz. 3 year old harlequin. Heavier in head than I prefer but this dog out moved his peers in this class. Good markings, plenty of bone and substance. Well laid shoulder. Good topline, well angulated rear. Liked his shape and size. Presented to advantage 2nd Pendleton-Watkins’ Goldania's King of Drago JW. 2 year old brindle. This had more my type of head, nicely marked. 3rd Birch’s Busdan Ziva's Terzo.

Open Dog (5,1) - 1st Pocock’s Ch/Int/Lux/Swiss Ch Tamzdane Empower Mint JW. 3 year old mantle. Lovely markings on this multi titled young dog and he was in sparkling form and condition; he was full of dash and dare. I liked his masculine head with parallel plains and correct shape to his eye giving that lovely expression. Crested neck into well angulated shoulder with straight front and good bone. I also liked his topline and rear angulation. He moved out really well, today was his day! Congratulations! Best Dog & BOB. 2nd Chappell’s Ch Selmalda Jealous Guy (ai). 5year old male. This male has had lots written about him and I’m not about to decry any of that. I liked his head very much and he has lovely brindle markings. Well made male all through but the heat got to him today. RBD. 3rd Cranfield’s Ch Zefather’s Ralph Lauren JW ShCEx OSW

Minor Puppy Bitch (3,0)

1st Cranfield & Wright’s Zefather’s Gossip Girl with Irieusdane. 7month fawn with black mask. Feminine head and lovely shape on this young lady. Good straight front and nice rear. Promising and pretty bitch. 2nd Bielecka’s Alegriagiant Casjopeya. 9 months mantle female. Good markings. Ok in front, level topline. Has more growing to do. 3rd Hansen’s Turn over A New Leaf.

Junior Bitch (4,2)

1st Bithell’s Vertumnus Raise Your Glass to Bourntwyn. 13 month fawn with black mask. Pretty, feminine head, with good eye. Lovely throw of neck into well laid shoulder and straight front. Good topline and tuck up and equally nice rear. Very much liked her shape and balance. She’s still a baby but she has an awful lot to like about her. Moved well and presented to advantage. I shall watch her future with

interest. RBB. 2nd Page & Concannon’s Novavida Aesirs Conquest. 12 month old brindle. Feminine head, straight front, level topline. Couldn’t compete with 1st for me.

Yearling Bitch (4,2)

1st Pendleton-Watkins’s Goldania's Princess Etain. 16 month fawn with black mask. Pretty feminine head. Straight front. Topline and rear ok. Moved well. 2nd Page & Concannon’s Novavida Shieldmaiden. 12month fawn with black mask. Litter sister to 2nd in last class. Lots to like about her and similar remarks apply. She gave away too much in age against 1st, for me.

Post Graduate Bitch (5,2)

1st Pocock’s Tamzdane Appley Ever After JW. 2 year old Harlequin bitch with clean markings. Feminine head. Good for bone and substance. Straight front. Good topline. Well presented. 2nd Hayter’s Damarkann Secret Dare with Stevarah. 2 year old mantle. Smaller and more compact than 1st. Overall preferred 1st. 3rd Kelly’s Onabonn Alish

Limit Bitch (1,0)

1st Hayter’s Taysca Stele Mici with Stevara. 2year old blue. Feminine head. Straight front. Stood alone.

Open Bitch (3,0)

1st Clark’s Ch Garsak Summer Days at Mintrex. Here she was! What can I add to what has been said about this multi ticketed bitch… She is now 4 years old. This fawn with black mask has a feminine typey head with parallel plains, kind dark almond eye with well fitting rims. Lovely length of neck into well laid shoulders. Straight front, tight feet. Good depth to brisket, lovely topline and tuck up into equally good rear. Substance and elegance. Presented in 1st class order and she owned the ring. Best Bitch, Best of Breed. Congratulations! 2nd Collett’s Foaldown Dark Secret. 3 year old black bitch. Liked her for size and shape. Feminine head with good eye. Nice length of neck into well laid shoulder and straight front, with equally good angles behind. Couldn’t quite compete with the winner but still a nicely put together bitch. 3rd Cranfield’s Ch Zefather’s Kind of Magic JW
