Scottish Great Dane Club 15.06.25 Bitches Judge Judy Greig

I was delighted and honoured to be invited to judge the SGDC 60th anniversary show, a club very close to my heart. The club celebrated in style giving the exhibitors a true Scottish welcome with a generous goodie bag and party nibbles. I was pleased with my entry overall and, while numbers were not large, there were many lovely quality bitches. A big thanks to my stewards Anne and Betty for managing to keep me in order. My co-judge Mickey Ramsay and I were in agreement with all joint decisions, with BIS and BPIS going to the bitches. MPB (1) Jaques& Kirbys Jacqukir Love Me Again This sweet 6 month girl took this whole showing lark in her stride, both being handled and on the move. Lovely overall shape and balance with a most appealing head enhanced by a pretty mask, dark eye and expression. Everything is in the right place at this age, she is well bodied and moved out with a good steady stride, keeping her topline. A most promising youngster. BP and BPIS PB (3,2) Page & Concannons Novavida Shieldmaiden This rangey fawn has a dark mask and eye with a good square drop of lip and a lovely crested neck well set into her shoulders. She is a little bum high as one could expect at this age and just needs to drop down into herself. She moves out well with a free, easy stride, true in front. JB (4,2) 1. Pendleton-Watkins Goldanias Princess Etain This black-masked fawn has a dark eye and some forehead wrinkle giving an appealing expression. Lovely neck into a well angled fore-hand and good depth of chest, short coupled and good croup and tail set. 2. Whites Jutlanders Eat Your Heart Out at Taradanes She has a well proportioned head with a kind eye, well bodied with a decent depth of chest and good coupling. Another with shapely rear quarters, little to choose between these 2 girls. YB (4,1) 1. Teese Primus Belle Star Such a good head on this girl, the parallel planes and square drop of lip complimenting each other. She has an arched neck of good length and good body depth, short coupled with a nice tuck-up. She holds her top line well on the move and moves true. 2. Simpsons Renescent Fugget About It Blue, finer all through than 1, clean feminine head with a good length of neck into a smooth shoulder. Slightly long in loin, she is well angulated front and rear and movement was steady and true. PGB (3,1) 1. Kellys Onabonn Alish I liked this harlequins strength and substance, with depth and width all through. She is well muscled with good bone and shapely rear giving her a lovely balanced outline. She gave her handler a hard time on the move but eventually settled to get into her stride. 2. Merwicks Taradanes Star Vision for Saalan This girl is built on flowing lines, she has a lovely expression and a reachy neck that flows into well angulated shoulders with a nice rise over a well angulated rear. Her brindle markings could be a little clearer. LB (5,1) Evans Belarosedane Lady Bayleigh This harlequin has a feminine head with parallel planes, good length of neck and well-filled front. She stands a little straight behind but comes into her own on the move, striding out with good reach and drive. 2. Jaques & Kirby Jaqukir Time For Change A fawn has a balanced head with well set ears, square drop of lip and lovely dark eye. She presents a pleasing outline, is well bodied with a gun barrel straight front and good width of second thigh. SOHB (2) 1. Belarosedane Lady Bayleigh 2. Onabonn Alish. SOFB (3) 1. WorsleysPrimus Encore Avec Malpa This lovely girl presented an appealing picture, her well proportioned head enhanced by a dark eye, she has a clean outline, such a good make and shape. She is well bodied with curves in all the right places. Moves true, keeping her topline, unfortunately was just not giving her all on the move today. 2. Gourlays Dinahtron Bella A substantial upstanding girl, with a strong head and the darkest eye, deep chest and well filled front and good straight bone and tight feet. She has a firm body and good tuck-up. SOBrindleB (3,1) 1. Taradanes Star Vision for Saalan. 2. Page & Concannons Novavida Aesirs Conquest Sister to Puppy winner and a year old on the day, she has more depth overall, long foreface and dark eye. She is well angulated front and rear, slightly long, with well let down hocks. She has a true, ground-covering stride. There is a lot to come from this youngster. SOBlueB (2) 1. Fergusons Renescent Too Hot to Handle Lux Jch CW25 JW My notes say elegant and shapely and she certainly is. So balanced, with everything in proportion, she simply flows from nose to tail with nothing exaggerated about her. She stands four square with such a clean outline, feminine headpiece with a square drop of lip and a gentle expression, well laid shoulder and strong quarters. Sympathetically handled, it was lovely to see her being moved on a loose lead which allows her to move naturally with a true and light step. In the challenge I found her impossible to overlook. CC and BIS. As a footnote I was delighted to learn afterwards that she is a Pet Therapy dog. In the words of our steward Anne Well Done! 2. Mcgills Tayhamblue From This Moment at Karnduke This dark blue is built on heavier lines, she has a strong head, lovely arched neck and good shoulder and well sprung rib. She is inclined to roach her topline a little. OB (8,1) A good class with quality exhibits. 1. Armours Ch Garsak Fire and Ice So much to like about this stylish fawn girl, she combines strength with elegance. Her head has good proportions with parallel planes, a long foreface and such a kind dark eye. She has a nicely arched neck into a well angled front with hind quarters to match and she makes a good account of herself on the move. Pleased to award her the RCC. 2. Dysons Primus Diamonds are Forever Samdice This dark brindle has a lovely balanced headpiece and appealing expression, a powerful arched neck with a well filled front and gun barrel straight legs, standing on good feet. Her powerful quarters and well let down hocks allowed her to move out well.
