Judge: Mrs Jean Pratt (Khanin)

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge your championship show. I throughly enjoyed my day, albeit on a rather hot and muggy one. Thank you also to the exhibitors for entering under me, and staying for what I know, for you, was very long and tiring day. I thought the dogs coped extremely well, although for some I think the heat had taken its toll. I found it quite difficult to assess movement as the ground was very uneven and the ring was very narrow and on hindsight it may have been better to have stayed outside, although I am not sure how the dogs or exhibitors would have fared with the heat for the second time. I felt there was an improvement on temperament from the last time I judged, all stood firm when approached, no backing off , and heads have changed for the better. However I was disappointed to see so many light eyes. But my main concern was the amount of exhibits with bad shoulder angulations, far too steep in upper arm and/or shoulder blade, resulting in flapping elbows and turning in of feet when coming towards me. This is a very serious structural fault in a large breed that has to bear some weight, and in

my opinion should be addressed.

Class1. Baby Puppy Dog. 3 entries 2 Abs 1st Dyson SAMDICE ONE AND ONLY 5 month Fawn dog. This young lad has super bone and one gorgeous temperament. And I see a puppy from my bitch CC winner. Everything about this young dog has substance, but he still has a long way to go for maturity. His head is growing nicely, as it should be at this age. His topline is level and his croup sits comfortably. He has good angles front and rear and has depth and width in brisket. He stands on a straight front with super compact large tight feet. He has a lot to grow into at present as he has ample skin. One to watch for the future. Best Baby Puppy.

Class 2. Minor Puppy Dog, 3 Entries 0 Abs 1st Lawton & Farquharson PRIMUS WALTER SCOTT AT THORNBRAE 6 month Lovely fawn with ample bone. Head well developed for his age with a dark eye. He is balanced has correct shoulder placement, good reach of neck and level topline with correct croup placement. He has ample depth and width to brisket and a straight front with super high toed feet. He  is well angulated to the rear, a little loose at present, but still surprised me on his strong movement for a lad so young. One to look for in the future. 2nd Bliss STAGBATCH BOBBY DAZZLER 7month Mantle . Another well grown substantial lad. Head in proportion. Dark tight eye, well placed

ears. Has reach of neck. Strong level topline. Substancial depth and width of brisket. No exaggeration in rear angles. Moved freely. I preferred shoulder angles and croup placement on my winner but they both have a lot more maturing to do and I'm sure will change places in the future. 3rd Lawson MURRAYVHAYLE MINES A DOUBLE FOR DROOLAKISS NAF TAF

Class 3. Puppy Dog, 2 Entries 0 Abs 1st Cubitt ZEFATHER’S WRECK IT RALPH FOR ZEBELDANE 10 month old tall dark brindle. Lovely head of correct proportions, enhanced by deepset dark eye.Good reach of neck, straight forelegs with catlike feet. He has properly placed shoulder placement with tucked in elbows. Rear angles correct and he moved steadily. He reminded me of his father at this age, rangy and tall. I hope his topline strengthens as he grows older, but I am sure he will mature well.  2nd Hayter STEVARAH MANHATTAN MAGIC 10 month old Mantle. He has a balanced head, that stills needs to develop and tighten up, expecially  around the eye. He has a well arched neck to level topline and correctly placed croup. He is large boned and has well filled body with both front and rear angulations correctly placed. I think this lad is just going through a growth spurt at the moment and this showed in his stance, as he was a little out  on feet and in on hock today, but nevertheless a nice boy. Moved steadily.

Class 4. Junior Dog, 4 Entries 1 Abs 1st Baker KINNEGANS BODYGUARD FOR PREVELI Fawn dog, His head is balanced, good length to his muzzle and level planes, flat cheeks and good lips, not overdone. However I would have liked a darker eye, well placed ears. He has a well arched neck to correct shoulder placement. Straight forelegs with super cat like feet, Well filled forechest and spring of rib. Strong Level topline to rise of loin and nice croup. Rear angles as they should be. Moved with

ease. Just needs to mature a tad more.  2nd Davies KINNEGANS TULSA KING (IKC)  Same comments as my first but I would have liked a firmer topline and a higher croup. But he does have a darker eye, it was also nice to see on him the seemingly lost charateristic of the dane,  cartiledge on the bridge of the nose. 3rd Burns KINNEGANS REBEL MOON FOR CARRICKTAIGH (IKC)

Class 7. Post Graduate Dog, 5 Entries 0 Abs 1st Wright & Cranfield ZEFATHER’S TWO FACES WITH IRIEUSDANE JW

Fawn. Lovely shape and balance but not the biggest in substance. Level equal head planes, skull flat, rise to brow, ears set well, strong arched neck, Shoulders ok, has depth and width of brisket, deep forechest and tight feet. He has a straight front but he did turn out his left foot from pastern when standing. Level topline to rise and croup. Not  overlong in loin, and strong. Rear angles well developed and low set hocks. Moved the best in this class.  2nd Watson-Hall ADOREADANE FRANK SINATRA (AI) Harlequin. Masculine balanced head. Planes equal, flat skull, not too much cheek, blunt nose, well placed ears. Good reach of neck to level topline. Straight front, well filled forechest and depth and width of brisket. Rear angles spot on and he moved well. I would have likee to have seen tighter feet

and better shoulder angles. 3rd Tasker & Molloy NEWARTHDANE MARS

Class 8. Limit Dog, 2 Entries 0 Abs 1st McGuinness, Nelson-McGuinness & McGuinness DINAHTRON THE OMEN Fawn. Head in proportion equal throughout, dark eye but I would like it a tad tighter, muzzle broad and equal with flat skull, reach of neck into a good lay of shoulder, Level topline to correct placed croup. Short loin with decent underline. Plenty depth and width of brisket. Nice turn of stifle. Straight front ending in catlike feet. He played up on the move so it was hard to assess but improved after having his lead was loosened.  2nd Hitcham DAINOAK TEMPUS VINCIT AT CHAMITH A very steady and calm Harlequin. Strong masculine head, skull flat, nice depth of muzzle. Sufficient length of neck to decent front angulation. Straight front to tight feet. Level topline and well placed croup. Would have liked a little more rear angulation and a cleaner throat. Moved well.

Class 9. Special Open Fawn Dog, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st McLellan ANADAIN LIFE IS A LEMON Another nice fawn dane from this kennel. He is not the biggest but has substance. He has equal head proportions, parallel head planes, dark eyes, well-set ears. Strong arched neck into ok shoulder placement. Well filled forechest to spring of rib and tucked in elbows. Straight front legs. Firm topline with good croup and tailset. Nice rear angles well muscled all over. Moved well with drive. I would have liked to have seen a little more layback to upper arm.

Class 10. Special Open Brindle Dog, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st Pendleton-Watkins GOLDANIA’S KING OF DRAGO JW  A dog that has a lot of his fathers attributes. Head has strength with level head planes, and not overdone in lips, flat cheeks and blunt nose. Long clean neck. Ok shoulder placement. Well  developed forechest and spring of rib, excellent straight forelegs, but would like tighter feet. Firm

topline, broad loin is a tad longer. Moderate rear angulation. Moved well.

Class 11. Special Open Blue Dog, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st Ferguson INT/IR/LUX CH ELITEDAIMOS MAGICK MAGO AT CHATEAUDAIN A masculine dog with substance without being overdone. He has correct depth of muzzle with nice placed lip and blunt nose. But I would have liked to have seen a bit more length to his foreface and a  narrower skull and I would prefer a darker eye. Well arched neck. Front and rear angles are good. Level topline and short loin, croup high. He has depth and width of brisket and straight forelegs with compact feet, well muscled rear end. Moved steadily.

Class 12. Special Open Black Dog, 3 Entries 1 Abs 1st Simpson CH RENESCENT BEWITCHED JW A 2 year old black dog in superb gleaming condition. He has a beautiful head. The planes equal, skull flat, flat cheeks and well filled below eyes. Ears are well set. Eyes are dark. His depth of muzzle is spot on. Neck has strength and is well arched with good length, leading into well-placed shoulder angulations. He stands straight on strong forelegs and elbows are well tucked into his well sprung ribs, and has depth of forechest. Feet are compact with well arched toes. His loin is broad, a tad longer but strong, and has neat tuckup. Hindquarters are muscular with correct turn of stifle and second thigh, hocks are low and strong. He is showy, but calm, when in a stand and in movement he has a flowing gait. To be critical I would have liked to see a stronger topline when in repose, it did level out on the move, but despite this and with his evident overall excellent qualities, I was pleased to award him the RCC. 2nd Hitcham BELAROSEDANE SATCHMO BOWE AT CHAMITH This older 4 yr old lad is a good honest dog. Not the tallest but heavier built. He stands foresquare, has depth and width of brisket, straight front with tight feet. Correct shoulder angulation, but a little straight behind. Ok topline. For me he is a little overdone in head but has a lovely expression, with a tight eye.

Class 14. Special Open Mantle Dog, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st Bliss STAGBATCH BOBBY DAZZLER See Class 2 Minor Puppy Dog.

Class 15. Open Dog, 3 Entries 1 Abs 1st McLellan ANADAIN DEAD RINGER FOR LOVE JW  A masculine fawn dog of 2 yrs, that...as they say, took my eye as soon as he walked in the ring. He is masculine without being overdone. His head for me is what I am looking for, equal and level planes

with length and strength, skull flat, well filled below eyes, and flat cheeks, good depth of muzzle but in line with jawbone and no over loose lip and has a black blunt nose, it was a pleasing picture in profile.He has ample bone to forelegs that are straight and well tucked in at elbows, well angulated shoulders

and tight catlike feet. He has well arched reach of neck to level topline with slight rise over loin to well set croup. Body has depth to forequarters and ribs are well sprung with required cut up to belly and not overlong in loin, giving a square look in profile. Hindquarters strong a well angulated with good hock position. He moved steady on the move. I noticed when looking a the catalogue that I gave a CC to his mother, well she certainly produced well, definately my favourite of the day. DCC and BIS. 2nd Munro ROUCANDANE STOLEN KISSES 3 year old Well grown fawn. Masculine head, equal planes, flat skull, smooth cheeks, blunt nose.Clean neck of good length. Well laid-back shoulders, topline and croup well placed, and loins strong but a little longer. Well angulated to rear. Stood slightly cow-hocked today but moved around the ring with ease.

Class 16. Special Veteran Dog, 1 Entry 0 Abs rt LOMONDANE CHUFFED TAE BITS 6 year old who could put the youngsters to shame with his movement. Masculine clean head, ok planes, tight but a tad light in eye, nice drop of lip. He has strength and cleanness of neck to well placed shoulders. Straight front and beautiful catlike feet. Good depth and width of brisket and short coupled. Strong topline, with rise to croup. Correct rear angulations. As I said before lovely steady mover. Best Veteran.

Class 17. Baby Puppy Bitch, 4 Entries 0 Abs Very Hard to judge this class as all three were in various stages of development. 1st Dyson SAMDICE THIS IS ME A very sweet temperament Brindle bitch of Five months. I was very surprised to see she was my Baby Puppy Dogs litter sister as they are far apart in development and looks. Again she had a head that is developing well and if the parents are anything to go by she should develop into a beautiful swan. She is rangy at the moment but everyting is in proportion and correctly growing. Very feminine and finer than her brother but more mature and moved as such. Another good one from this kennel and a prospect. 2nd Donnelly PRIMUS RAISE A GLASS 5 month old fawn still in the raw stages. Lovely bone. Head to develop but promising. Both front and rear angles are correct. Straight front to super tight feet. Short coupled good lay of croup. Depth and width to ribs. Promising baby.3rd Abbott TEESEEDANE JOURNEY VIA NIKAMI

Class 18. Minor Puppy Bitch, 5 Entries 1 Abs 1st Bliss STAGBATCH STORM AMY Promising harlequin puppy of 8 months. Well proportioned head thats still developing. Arched reach of neck to correct shoulder placement. Straight forelegs with good bone and lovely tight feet. She has depth of forechest and spring of rib. Correct topline to nice croup placement. Good angulation to rear.Low hocks. I was not surprised at her sound movement after seeing who her father is, best in this class. 2nd Donnelly THISTLEDANE IT’S A RIOT AT PRIMUS NAF Very nice 6 month old puppy, brindle who is slightly longer in loin and just needs to tighten on topline.But this, I'm sure will come with maturity. She has a typical head of her age, good bone, depth and

width to forechest and ribs, straight front to nice feet, nice turn of stifle. Moved well. Another nice puppy. 3rd Ingram FONTANAROSSA MAKKARI AVEN DAINMAJIK

Class 19. Puppy Bitch, 4 Entries 0 Abs 1st Nayar ROUCANDANE GAP YEAR FOR KEMANILO Fawn of 11 months. Mature girl with good bone. Feminine head, correct planes, nice earset. Good reach of neck and shoulder angles, topline and croup placement. Well filled forechest, straight front,

catlike feet. She has depth and width of ribs, level topline and rear angles are well bent. This is a nice girl but didn't go too well in the challenge. 2nd Hayter STEVARAH MY MACEY’S Mantle. Well bodied More mature 10 month old than others in the class. Equal headplanes, length of muzzle and blunt nose, dark eye. Strong neck to level topline and rise to loin to well placed croup and short loin. Well angled shoulders to straight forelegs with tight feet. Hindquarters had good turn of stifle. I would like to have seen just a little more length in neck. Very close decision for 1st place. 3rd Bartley ZEFATHERS FREAKY FRIDAY

Class 20. Junior Bitch, 7 Entries 2 Abs 1st Burns KINNEGANS FIREFLY LANE FOR CARRICKTAIGH (IKC) Well grown fawn bitch of lovely proportions. Well chiselled head with good length and strength, with equal planes. Flat cheeks. No excess of lip. Ears set well, blunt look to nose. Long arched neck to well placed upper arm and shoulder placement. Excellent depth of forechest and straight forelegs ending in tight feet with high toes. She has spring of rib, level topline to rise over short loin and correct croup placement. Hindquarters are strong and well angulated, standing well into foreward pointing feet and hock position. I asked her to move again as I liked this girl a lot and she was distracted by something outside, she moved better the second time. I was surprised that when they told me that this young lady was the daughter of my Best Dog winner, she is of type. She should gain her title I'm sure. RCC.2nd Hayter STEVARAH LIBERTY STATON 10 month old Mantle. Heavier young lady but lovely body shape. Angles correct front and hind. Chiseled head, flat cheeks, planes equal. Darkest of eyes and well set ears. Good reach of neck. Has depth and width of body. Level topline. Straight front but would like tighter feet. Muscular quarters. Moved well but stood a little in on hock.3rd Gough & Da Silva ROUCANDANE LAST DANCE OF JOOPSTAR

Class 21. Yearling Bitch, 5 Entries 1 Abs 1st Jacques & Kirby JACQUKIR LOVE ME AGAIN JW (AI)Fawn who is balanced and has all the attributes I like. A feminine head, with equal planes, flat cheeks,blunt nose and not overdone in drop of lip. dark eyes and well-set ears. She has a well arched neck leading into good shoulders, with elbows well tucked under her body, level topline and well placed croup. Straight front with catlike feet. Has depth and width of brisket, short strong loin and well angulated hindquarters. I thought as she came into the ring and stood she would be in the cards but

unfortunately she was turning out a front foot from the pastern quite substantially today and I could not unsee it in the lineup. Such a shame. But won this class on her overall quality.2nd Chappell CASAARABAL’S FREYJA SELMALDA (IMP USA) Fawn of 15 months. This girl looks to be a late developer and wasn't near as finished as my first.Feminine head, nice drop of lip, blunt look to nose. Dark eye. Good ear placement. Lovely crested neck to ok topline with rise to ok croup. Straight front to tight feet. Nice underline. I would have liked to have seen more layback of upper arm and she would have then filled in her front which had depth but needed more spring of rib. Moved well.3rd Liddell & Allison SMOORIKEN GONNAE NODAE THAT

Class 22. Novice Bitch, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st Tasker & Molloy RAVENDANE FALLEN ANGEL Blue. A feminine head which is tad wide in skull and I would prefer a slightly longer muzzle. Adequate placed shoulders to level topline and croup. Has depth in forechest, and spring of rib. Straight front and good feet. She is a little straight in rear angulation. Moved ok.

Class 23. Post Graduate Bitch, 3 Entries 1 Abs 1st Evans BELAROSEDANE BEANY BABYBEL A 4 year old black girl with a pleasing head, equal planes, good drop of lip, tight dark eye, well placed  ears. Arched neck into a correct shoulder placement, straight front to tight feet. Good depth and width

of brisket. Level topline to a low croup. Short loin. Rear angulation moderate. Won this class on movement. 2nd Allison & Liddell SMOORIKEN FAR ABOOTS Fawn, black mask, another nice girl with a pleasing head with some correct attributes but has a very light eye. Nice length of neck, front angles good, level topline to well placed croup, short loin,moderate rear anglulation. Straight front with tight feet. She was very restless and this showed in her

movement.

Class 24. Limit Bitch, 5 Entries 1 Abs  1st Bithell VERTUMNUS RAISE YOUR GLASS TO BOURNTWYN A very feminine elegant fawn with a lovely headpiece, well balanced, clean cheeks, planes equal, level jaw line without too much lip. Well arched neck. I would have liked to have seen better layback of upper arm, but nevertheless she kept her elbows tight to well sprung ribs. Straight front and ok feet.she has depth of forechest, firm topline. Well angulated rear angle. She moved the best in this class.2nd Walton RAVENDANE MUSTANG SALLY Fawn. Very feminine head of equal proportions, level planes and drop of lip not overdone. Well placed ears but a little on the large size. Straight front. I would like tighter feet. Well arched neck, ok shoulder

placement although I would have preferred more layback of upper arm and she stood elbows out. She has a firm level topline, rise over loin and well placed croup. Well angulated rear, low set hocks.  Moved well from rear view but elbows were turning out when seen coming from the front.3rd Evans BELAROSEDANE BEANY BABYBEL

Class 25. Special Open Fawn Bitch, 2 Entries 1 Abs 1st Pendleton-Watkins GOLDANIA’S PRINCESS ETAIN JW Fawn. Good quality bitch with a lovely dark mask. her head is as I like it, equal parallel planes, flat cheeks, blunt nose, deep but not over drop of lip, well placed ears and a dark eye, good reach of neck into well angulated shoulders. Has depth of forechest, straight front and tight feet. Level topline with rise to croup, well angulated to rear with low set hocks. A very nice balanced bitch. Unfortunately she was a little cow-hocked on the stand and moved very wide at the rear and seemed uncomfortable. I understand she had only just finished a season.

Class 26. Special Open Brindle Bitch, 3 Entries 0 Abs 1st Wright & Cranfield ZEFATHER’S HOMEWARD BOUND WITH IRIEUSDANE Well proportioned, square in outline. She has a feminine head with super dark eyes and black mask,level head planes, flat cheeks, has some depth to her muzzle but not overdone. She has correct angulation to shoulders, leading to straight front and super tight feet. She has depth to forechest, with spring of rib, firm topline, short loin, well placed croup. Moderate rear angulation, low hocks. Moved well from all angles. One to watch. Best Puppy.2nd Merwick TARADANES STAR VISION FOR SAALAN Older brindle of 4 years. She has a very feminine head with equal planes, flat cheeks, flat skull, dark

eye and neat well set ears. Good length of arched elegant neck leading to correct shoulder angles. Straight forelegs, good depth of chest, spring of ribs. Strong Level topline to rise and well set croup.Slightly longer in loin. Moderate angulation, low hocks. She moved steady and firm. The weight she was carrying today, I felt, detracted from her otherwise nice shape. 3rd Bartley ZEFATHERS FREAKY FRIDAY

Class 27. Special Open Blue Bitch, 5 entries 3 Abs 1st Ferguson IR/SWISS CH RENESCENT TOO HOT TO HANDLE FOR CHATEAUDAIN LUX JCH CW25  BW25 JW Lovely elegant bitch, with a nice head, good length of foreface, narrow back skull, flat cheeks and level planes, and well placed ears. Long arched neck into ok shoulder placement, strong top line, but for me a little low in croup. Lovely depth of forechest and ample spring of rib, straight forelegs and tight feet. Moderate rear angles. It was now quite late in the day and I think it had taken its toll on this girlie as she moved ok but had to be jollied on. Nice type though.2nd Hayter TAYSCA STELE MICI WITH STEVARAH A heavier balanced girl. Nice head with a good length of foreface but a tad wide in skull. Straight forelegs with tight feet. Well arched neck. Level topline, rise to correct placed croup, and short in loins. She is quite straight in shoulder angulations which caused her to elbow out on the move. But she has muscular hindquarters with moderate angulations that gave her drive on the move.

Class 28. Special Open Black Bitch, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st Evans BELAROSEDANE BEANY BABYBEL See Class 23. Post Graduate Bitch.

Class 29. Special Open Harlequin Bitch, 3 Entries 1 Abs

1st Evans BELAROSEDANE LADY BAYLEIGH Lovely feminine head with equal planes, flat skull, blunt nose. lighter eye, well placed ears, depth of

muzzle not overdone. Well arched neck into level topline and correct croup. She has depth of forechest and spring of rib. Straight front with tight feet that turned out unfortunately. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well and free. As a heavier bitch I would have liked to have seen a slightly larger head for a more balanced picture.2nd Bliss STAGBATCH STORM AMY See Class 18 Minor Puppy Bitch.

Class 30. Special Open Mantle Bitch, 1 Entry 0 Abs 1st Hayter DAMARKANN SECRET DARE WITH STEVARAH Nice girl with a pleasing head, equal planes and lips not overdone. Arched reach of neck to correct front angulation. Straight front with bone to tight feet. Moderate rear anglulation. I would have liked to have seen a stronger topline and better croup placement. Move well in the confined space.

Class 31. Open Bitch, 4 Entries 1 Abs 1st Dyson CH PRIMUS DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER SAMDICE 3 yr old Brindle bitch. Lovely feminine head, parallel planes, flat cheeks, has depth of muzzle with no excess or lumpiness. Ears set correctly, and she has a dark almond eye. She has an elegant long arched neck leading to well angled shoulders. Forelegs are strong with plenty of bone and elbows well under her body. Lovely depth and width of brisket and not overlong in loin. Topline is held when stationary and on the move and has a well set croup. I forgave a tad more undercarriage as she had had a litter not so long before. Rear was well-muscled with good turn of stifle and hocks well let down. Her movement was steady but true considering the terrain. She showed well if not overenthusiatic. Overall a lovely girl. I was pleased to award her the BCC and RBIS. 2nd Merwick TARADANES STAR VISION FOR SAALAN See Class 26. Special Open Brindle Bitch. 3rd Evans BELAROSEDANE LADY BAYLEIGH

Class 32. Special Veteran Bitch, 5 Entries 2 Abs 1st Middleton DORNOIR SINEAD Clean Lovely 6 year old blue girl, as is usual for this kennel. Honest dog with a pleasing head, she has narrow skull which is not often found in blues, flat cheeks, nice drop of lip, tight eye, and equal planes, decent ear set & size. Straight front to catlike feet. Arched neck. Well filled at the front, and has decent spring of rib. Firm topline. Well set angles front & rear. She lost out to dog on movement but nevertheless a worthy best veteran, just not today.2nd Ingram ZWIEBELCHEN IN FLAGRANTI WITH DAINMAJIK (IMP DEU) I have given this 6 year old bitch a top place in the past and she still has the attributes that I like. Nice femine head, equal head planes, square lips, skull flat, well set ears. Well arched neck, shoulders well  laid back. Straight front and tight feet. However she stood with both front feet inwards quite

considerably, and this cost her 1st place. She has depth of forechest and her ribs well sprung, and she still has a tuckup. Level topline to well placed croup. Moderate rear angulation. Moved ok.  3rd Grant LOMONDANE CA CANNY AT EILDANE
