The Midland & West of England Great Dane Club Championship Show 1/12/2024.
Thank you to the committee for the invite to judge at this show, as always such a warm welcome great atmosphere and efficiently run show also to my steward who kept all things in order on the day, sadly since the last time i judged i think the quality in the males has declined my main winners were all of good breed type and fitted the standard well. Unfortunately some did not fit standard, and movement left a lot to be desired but with joint decision with my fellow judge we decided on the bitch for BIS.
I found her outstanding in outline and breed type with exceptional movement, and still only relatively young .
Minor puppy dog
1 Collett mrs L . Verano Vulture fawn of 8 months old pleasing in outline and overal balance .he has a classic head with correct planes good ear set ,dark eye ,correct bite ,long neck leading into good lay of shoulder ,straight front ,good flat bone and tight feet ,good body chest well let down strong in topline carrried well at all times ,rear angles complimented the front ,having a good turn to stifle and strong in hock his movment was sound and true coming and going a very nice youngster indeed i shall follow his progress with interest ,BPD RBPIS
2 Rowe, Concannon & Page Miss TT&R Novavida Meant to be Blue of 9 months old another promising youngster ,good overall balance having a good head eye and bite ,long in neck leading to fair shoulder ,deep in body with good topline well angulated rear sadly he needs more ring craft as his behaviour was not good on the day and was hard to asses his movement as he did not want to do as his handler wanted of him .

1 Mclellan Mrs A , Anadain Dead Ringer Fawn of 14 months old took my eye on his entry to the ring , beautiful outline with great ring presence wonderful balance ,his head is of correct proportion with correct planes ,good ear set with dark expressive eye ,correct bite ,strong in neck leading into the best of shoulder good straight front with flat bone and good feet ,deep in body with good ribbing and firm topline carried well at all times his rear angulation compliments his front strong in second thigh and hock ,his movement was sound and true with good reach and drive a very nice dog which should have a very bright future indeed ,another i will follow with great interest .
2 McGuinness & Nelson Ms M & S Dinahtron The Omen Fawn of 14 months good for overall breed type and balance ,with a good head piece ,well set ear dark eye and correct bite ,strong in neck with good lay to shoulder good bone with tight feet ,good body with good topline carried well ,his rear angles complimented the front ,movement was sound with good stride overall a very nice dog .

1Muro Ms G Roucandane Stolen Kisses fawn of almost 2 years old good for overall shape and balance ,with good head of good proportions with dark eye and correct bite ,strong in neck leading into fair shoulder good bone with good feet , .deep in body with firm topline moderate rear angles, movement was sound and ground covering .
2 Simpson Mr D Renescent Goodfella Black of lovely outline and breed type has a lovely head with dark eye and correct bite long in neck with good lay of shoulder ,good bone and feet ,deep in body with firm topline, well off for rear angulation and strong hock movement was sound and true ,,,sadly lacking body on the day

Fawn of 14 months old litter brother to my junior winner , though brothers they are different ,he has a lovely head with correct proportions good ear size and set ,dark eye correct bite ,strong in neck leading into good lay of shoulder good flat bone and tight feet ,deep in body with firm topline ,well off for rear angulation with firm hocks ,movement was free sound and easy covering the ground well ,another i shall watch with interest .
2 Hitcham Mrs E Dainoak Tempus Vincit at Chamith Harlequin of 3 years ,good overal shape and balance with good head planes ,dark eye and correct bite good length of neck into good lay to shoulder ,good flat bone and tight feet ,deep in body with good topline and rear angles movement was sound coming and going just not the animation of 1 on the move .

1Henshall Mrs P Calchas Bryan The Brave Harlequin of 2 years old lovely shape and balance , he has a wonderful head with good ear set dark eye and correct bite ,his neck is strong leading into the best of shoulder ,straight front with good one and feet ,deep in body with firm topline carried well at all times ,good rear angulation which compliments the front firm in hock ,his movement was by far the best in this class being sound and true from all angles .

Movement was sound and true coming and going Another worthy champion .

1 Chappell Mrs L & Mr A CH Selmalda Jealous Guy (AI) Brindle of 4 years of age ,well what dose one write of a dog that so much has been written before By far the best dog of the day he just stands away from the rest on his overall breed type and balance i now know why he is top male in the breed and thank you for brining him for my opinion . He has the best of heads with correct planes and balance to it good ear size and set ,wonderful eye and expression correct bite with strong jaw ,his neck is strong arched and leading into the best of shoulders with great return of upper arm giving him good reach in front movement ,great bone and the tightest of feet ,deep in body with well sprung rib carried well back ,his topline is firm and carried well at all times be it on the stack or movement ,,,his hind angulation compliments the front angles perfectly ,with strong hocks ,his movement is a joy to watch from any angle so true and sound covering the ground with ease CC & RBIS
2 Lipman & Booth MRS & MRS S & S Rimor Aurelius Brindle of 3 years old upstanding dog of good overall breed type and balance ,he has a wonderful head with correct planes ,good ear set ,expressive eye with correct bite ,long in neck strong and arched ,leading into great lay of shoulder ,good return of upper arm strong flat bone with good feet ,deep in body with good ribbing ,firm topline ,well off for rear angulation with firm hocks ,his movement is sound and true covering the ground well ,i am sure he will make champion in time later learned he is a son of my cc winner ,,, RCC .
